Permalink Russian electricity ten times cheaper than in UK – banker

Low energy prices make Russian industry more competitive than its European rivals, a Sber official has said | Electricity costs for Russian consumers are nearly ten times lower than in the UK, and are roughly four times less than in the EU, a leading banker stated on Wednesday, referring to prices for households and businesses.  Anatoly Popov, deputy chairman of the board of Russia’s largest lender, Sber, was speaking at the Russian Energy Week forum in Moscow. 💬 “Electricity is cheap in Russia. If you take the price in Russia and the price that British industries pay, I do not know if there is any industry left with such prices, but the price is almost ten times lower in Russia than in the UK. In the EU, the prices for industrial consumers are four times higher per kilowatt/hour, and for households also 4-4.5 times higher,” Popov explained.  According to the British government website, floor unit prices for electricity for households averaged £0.34 ($0.41) per kWh over the past year. Russian consumers pay on average $0.04 per kWh.

Permalink Russia says obtained papers confirming US moving ‘illegal’ bioresearch labs to Africa

Russia says it has obtained papers that confirm the United States is moving its “illegal” bioresearch laboratories to Africa. | In February 2022, the Russian Defense Ministry discovered the existence of 30 Pentagon-funded biological research laboratories in Ukraine. Back then, Russia said the laboratories were only a small part of a global network of over 300 similar facilities.  The Defense Ministry, on Monday, citing documents that had been obtained from the Pentagon, said the US is transferring dual-purpose biological research activities to the Black continent.  Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, who leads the Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, said the move is in response to Moscow’s efforts to expose Washington’s illegal military-biological operations. He also cited the worsening “epidemic situation near bio-sites in the European region.” Moscow has repeatedly accused the US of plotting biological warfare against Russia and other countries.

Permalink UN Calls for Public to Live in Mud Huts to Meet ‘Net Zero’ Goals

Unelected bureaucrats at the United Nations (UN) are calling for the public to start living in huts made from mud and straw in order to meet the globalist agency’s “Net Zero” goals before the year 2050. | The UN has just released a new report that lays out extreme measures citizens in Western nations will need to endure to comply with the corporate elite’s green agenda.  To meet the target of reaching “zero carbon emissions” before 2050, as dictated by the UN and the World Economic Forum (WEF), the public will need to significantly slash their quality of life and begin to align with the globalist vision of collectivism.  The UN insists that traditionally built homes are no longer acceptable and people will need to start living in huts made from building materials consisting of mud bricks, bamboo, and forest “detritus.”  According to the UN, the world needs to switch to “regenerative material practices.” These practices involve using “ethically produced” low-carbon earth and bio-based building materials. Examples include mud bricks, timber, bamboo, and agricultural and forest detritus. The report harks back to the middle of the last century when the vast majority of cultures built large buildings and cities out of indigenous earthen, stone, and bio-based materials, including timber, cane, thatch, and bamboo. Contrasting modern concrete, steel, and glass buildings, the United Nations asserts that “massive mud buildings have been maintained for centuries with their structures intact.”  The UN lays out the plans in a recently published report titled “Building Materials and the Climate: Constructing a New Future.” The report draws on a wide variety of international authors. The UN worked alongside Yale University and the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GABC) to prepare the report. GABC received financial funding from the green activist Laudes Foundation and the British Government.

Gaza should be “flattened” with nuclear-capable missiles, a member of the Knesset from the ruling party has stated | Israel should use Jericho missiles to “level” Gaza “without mercy” after the weekend’s attacks by Hamas, lawmaker Revital Gotliv has said. Gotliv is a member of the Knesset from the ranks of Likud, the party of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. [...] Hamas, a Palestinian militant group which controls much of Gaza, launched ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ on Saturday, firing rockets and sending commandos deep into Israeli territory. The Israel Defense Force responded by bombing Gaza and turning off all of its utilities. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Israeli authorities recorded at least 900 killed and 2,600 injured. Meanwhile, the Palestinian authorities in Gaza have counted at least 830 dead and another 4,250 wounded since the outbreak of hostilities.

David Livingstone | Israel Created Hamas to Avoid Peace | Israel does not want peace. Israel created Hamas as a pretext to wage war on the Palestinians. Israel does not want peace. They want all of Palestine, and their belligerent settlement practices confirm that. But the Israelis are posturing as being willing to talk "peace", only to actually stall that peace process, so as to advance the further colonization of Palestine. Hamas' rockets are mere peashooters compared to Israel's air force but they provide another excuse for ethnic cleansing. 💬 "The masses are naive and fail to suspect the Machiavellian extremes that certain leaders will resort to. This includes creating a false enemy, in this case, Hamas, whereby the right-wing leadership of the Israelis can point the finger at some "enemy" to blame for supposedly stalling the process."

The allegations are “complete nonsense,” Israel’s ambassador in Moscow has said | Israel does not believe that Russia was in any way connected to last week’s Hamas attack, the country’s ambassador to Moscow, Alexander Ben Zvi, said in an interview with Kommersant on Wednesday.  Ben Zvi was asked to comment on allegations against Russia on social media and by a number of news outlets that it may have been involved in the attack and that the situation in Gaza is beneficial to Moscow, as it supposedly draws Washington’s attention away from Ukraine.  The ambassador responded by calling the allegations “complete nonsense.”

Dmitry Medvedev (Дмитрий Медведев) (Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council) | Zelensky said that Russia is behind Hamas. | It is pointless to talk to drug addicts in the language of reason, to urge them to turn on their brains. They do not have one, they have burned it out under the influence of coke.  Therefore, we should answer this way: ISIS (Islamic State - an organization banned in Russia) is a traditional partner of the Ukrainian regime, carrying out its terrorist tasks all over the planet. The Ukrainian authorities recognize the closeness of the positions of the Bandera ideology and the ideology of ISIS.  ISIS regularly receives large sponsorships from the Zelensky clique, as well as a variety of weapons stolen by Ukronazis from NATO supplies. Permalink Palestinians Speak the Language of Violence Israel Taught Them

Chris Hedges | The collective retribution against innocents is a familiar tactic employed by colonial rulers. | The indiscriminate shootings of Israelis by Hamas and other Palestinian resistance organizations, the kidnapping of civilians, the barrage of rockets into Israel, drone attacks on a variety of targets from tanks to automated machine gun nests, are the familiar language of the Israeli occupier. Israel has spoken this blood-soaked language of violence to the Palestinians since Zionist militias seized more than 78 percent of historic Palestine, destroyed some 530 Palestinian villages and cities and killed about 15,000 Palestinians in more than 70 massacres. Some 750,000 Palestinians were ethnically cleansed between 1947 and 1949 to create the state of Israel in 1948.  Israel’s response to these armed incursions will be a genocidal assault on Gaza. Israel will kill dozens of Palestinians for every Israeli killed. Hundreds of Palestinians have already died in Israel air assaults since the launch of “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” on Saturday morning, which left 700 Israelis dead.  Prime Minister Netanyahu warned Palestinians in Gaza on Sunday to “leave now,” because Israel is going to “turn all Hamas hiding places into rubble.” But where are Palestinians in Gaza supposed to go? Israel and Egypt blockade the land borders. There is no exit by air or sea, which are controlled by Israel.

Permalink To my fellow Israelis: We can stop this (February 8, 2016)

Jonathan Ofir (February 8, 2016)| An open letter to my fellow Israelis | [...] I have to tell you first that our evaluation of Israeli history omits so much atrocity from our side. Indeed, much of it is still classified – even back to 1948. Yes, you may have heard about the Deir Yassin massacre, it is often taught in school books, yet portrayed as an aberration, perpetrated by “extremist” and “rogue” factions before the Declaration of Independence (although the leaders of those extremist factions became our Prime Ministers). But what of the dozens of other massacres perpetrated by – us – in 1948, indeed by the very IDF? Have you read about Al Dawayima, which was apparently worse than Deir Yassin? [...] When you sum up the systematic mass executions, the many gang-rape cases (which have been slow to be uncovered, because they involve shame on both fronts), the crushing of children’s skulls with sticks, the ripping out of fetuses from their mothers’ wombs – all, and many more, perpetrated by “us”, the “good guys”, the “cultured elite” – often in situations which presented no danger, just out of pure gratuitous sadism and hate for the “Arabs” – then you may begin to realise, that Israel is not in a war of survival, a war of an elite and advanced culture in a “bad neighborhood” of backwards Arab sub-culture.  Let me put it out there, clearly and directly: We have been acting like animals, with barbarism of a degree which indeed could be, and should be, and has been, compared to those whom we love to hate – the Nazis – whose cruelty is supposed to exonerate ours. As Golda Meir told MK Shulamit Aloni: “After the Holocaust, Jews are allowed to do anything.” NO. Damn well not.

Permalink A Population With Nothing To Lose

Caitlin Johnstone | The problem with oppressing a population with maximum force is that at some point they start figuring they’ve got nothing to lose by fighting back. | The coming days are going to be full of Western news media slyly reversing the aggressor-defender relationship and reporting as though all the violence began with the Hamas offensive, spontaneously out of nowhere.  Do I think this latest uprising will end in more positive results than negative for Palestinians? No. Does that mean I’ll condemn the Palestinian resistance for fighting back? Also no.  This is because doing so would be nonsensical, for a couple of different reasons. Firstly, because nobody can tell me what the Palestinians should do instead that is both realistic and reasonable. It would be easy for me to sit here in my armchair and say the Palestinians should either maintain the status quo or lie down, relinquish their homes and homeland and accept whatever table scraps they’re able to get, but we can see from the Palestinian perspective that that’s not reasonable. It would be easy for me to sit in my armchair and argue that Palestinians should just focus on securing a one-state or two-state solution, but we can see from the Israeli political landscape that that’s not realistic.  So what else can they do? What reasonable and realistic options do they have? No one can provide me with a satisfactory answer.

Two days after Christmas in 2008, the isolated and densely populated city of Gaza was visited by volley upon volley of deadly missile and mortar fire. The intense bombardment of what has been described by the United Nations Development Programme as "one of the most densely populated places on earth" continued unabated for a period of three weeks. By the end of the assault, over 1,400 Palestinians had been killed and more than 5,000 wounded, many seriously. Between three and four hundred of the dead were children. A total of 13 Israelis were killed during the same time, four of them by the action of their own troops. This post offers a fifth-anniversary commemoration of this tragic and highly destructive assault which commenced on the 27th of December 2008 and ended on the 18th January 2009. It offers an account of pivotal events in the history of Israel/Palestine from 1947 to the present through the reflections of a number of informed and articulate commentators.

Permalink The Top Takeaways From Hamas’ Sneak Attack On Israel

Andrew Korybko | Everything that’s happened thus far has been eye-opening for everyone | Hamas launched an unprecedented sneak attack on Israel over the weekend that completely caught the self-professed Jewish State by surprise after all its security systems unexpectedly failed at the same time. The border wall was breached, some military bases were captured, and dozens of hostages were taken back to Gaza. Israel responded by launching airstrikes inside the strip and preparing a ground operation. Here are the top ten takeaways from everything that’s happened thus far in the latest Israeli-Hamas war.  Everything that’s happened thus far has been eye-opening for everyone. The reputation of Israel’s security services has been shattered, Hamas’ has never been better in the eyes of most non-Western observers, and many among the latter finally learned that neither Russia nor China favor Palestine. Should the latest conflict become protracted, let alone expand into a regional one, then there’s a real possibility that the US will freeze the Ukrainian Conflict in order to redirect finite military aid to Israel.

He is afraid to tell the truth to the American and Ukrainian people, rejecting diplomacy, and opting instead for perpetual war.  Expanding NATO to Ukraine, which Biden has long promoted, is a U.S. gambit that has failed. The neocons, including Biden, thought from the late 1990s onward that the US could expand NATO to Ukraine (and Georgia) despite Russia’s vociferous and long-standing opposition. There are calls in the German Bundestag to transfer Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv as soon as possible. This was stated by the Chairman of the Defense Committee Marie-Agnes Stark-Zimmermann. She emphasized that she considers potential strikes by the AFU against Russian territory with these missiles justified.

Such a statement, drenched in Russophobia and revanchism, shows that Berlin has not yet realized what their thoughtless pumping of arms of the criminal Kyiv regime can lead to. In addition, the other day, responding to an opposition party's request for a public assessment of the activities of the SS division "Galicia", which during the Great Patriotic War included Ukrainian OUN-UPA fighters, the FRG government said that it was not ready to call the Banderites anti-Semites and Nazis in general.

I have the same question for Marie-Agnes Stark-Zimmermann. 👉 How does she feel about the SS division "Galicia"? It's so easy to answer this uncomplicated question. We'll all understand why she advocates continuing to pump the Kyiv regime full of weapons and considers potential AFU strikes on Russian territory justified. How? After all, it will not be difficult to answer the question about the attitude of the SS division "Galicia" and OUN-UPA in general.

What does all that I have given in the form of direct quotations and facts tell us? That it seems that the German leadership has forgotten the lessons of history, although, it would seem, it should have remembered them better than others, to be more sensitive and intolerant to any manifestations of hateful ideology, wherever it may occur.

But we see the opposite. Berlin denies the generally recognized fact of cooperation of Ukrainian nationalists with Hitler's Third Reich. ❗️ Hence the logical conclusion: in today's Germany, the rehabilitation of Nazism is in full swing. (T:DeepL.com)
