Thursday marks the 10th anniversary of the May 2, 2014 Odessa Trade Unions Building massacre, in which 48 anti-Maidan activists were burned alive by neo-Nazi thugs. The violence, coming soon after Kyiv kicked off its ‘anti-terrorist operation’ in the Donbas, demonstrated the new regime’s readiness to drown Ukraine in blood to cling to power. | The US and EU-sponsored insurrection in the Ukrainian capital, which culminated in the ouster of the democratically elected government of President Viktor Yanukovych and his replacement by radical pro-US and ultra-nationalist forces seeking to scupper relations with Russia in favor of closer ties with the West, was met with anger by many residents in Ukraine’s southeast. Holding dear the centuries of common historical, cultural, linguistic, family, economic, and other bonds with Russia, residents of southeastern regions favored Ukraine’s entry into the Eurasian Union, and expressed opposition to the pro-EU, pro-NATO course of the new authorities in Kyiv. ● Odessa, Ukraine’s third-largest city after Kiev and Kharkov, was a crown jewel in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, bearing witness to almost all of the dramatic events of the 20th century. Odessa’s residents were involved in the 1905 Russian Revolution and the Russian Civil War of 1917-1922. The city became a key center of resistance to the Nazis during the opening months of the Great Patriotic War, heroically holding out against numerically superior Axis forces for 73 days until mid-October 1941, and liberated in April 1944 after over two-and-a-half years of grueling occupation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that F-16s can be carriers of nuclear weapons, and Moscow would take this into account in its combat operations. | "It’s not only the airplanes, but also the training of the pilots, training of the maintenance and also making sure we have the weapon systems to go with it," US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Charles Brown said. "That is the dialogue that we are having to not only just get to the airplanes but get to a full capability," he said. A Geneva-based right group urges an investigation into the apartheid “Israeli” entity’s potential use of banned thermal weapons in its genocidal war campaign against Gaza which could evaporate or melt victim bodies. | Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor in a report on Tuesday said that testimonies received by the rights group show that victims’ bodies appear to have evaporated or melted as a result of the entity’s bombing of residential homes in the Gaza Strip.

💬 “An international committee of experts must be established to look into the weapons ‘Israel’ has been using as part of its genocide in the Gaza Strip, ongoing since 7 October 2023, including the potential use of bombs that produce such high heat that victims’ bodies evaporate,” the report said. ● According to the Euro-Med Monitor report, thousands of bodies in Gaza remain missing and they “no longer exist” and may have “turned to ashes,” raising questions about the type of bombs used in the attacks.

The report added that the “shockingly high” death toll in Gaza raises fears about the potential use of “thermal weapons”, or what are known as “vacuum bombs”, well-known in military circles for their efficacy in demolishing caves and underground tunnel complexes.

Move comes following growing domestic pressure and a meeting between Erdogan and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh | Turkey will join South Africa in its genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Wednesday. Fidan said that Turkey has been deliberating how to respond to Israel's actions during the war on Gaza for a while and has already taken steps against Israel, such as restricted some exports. “Our legal experts have been studying how to participate in the legal case against Israel at the ICJ,” Fidan during televised remarks. 8,535 Palestinians arrested in West Bank since October 7

 ■  US Secretary of State Blinken, on a visit to Tel Aviv, says there should be “no delays, no excuses” in reaching a ceasefire deal, claiming the only reason it may not happen “is because of Hamas”.
 ■ At least two children have been killed in an overnight Israeli attack on a house in Rafah, while more reportedly died in an air strike on a residential building in central Gaza City.

Israeli forces have detained 20 Palestinians, including one minor, throughout the occupied West Bank in the last 24 hours, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society. This brings the total number of Palestinians arrested in the West Bank since the Gaza war broke out on October 7 to 8,535. The latest arrests took place in Hebron, Qalqilya, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Tubas, Nablus, Jericho, and Jerusalem governorates, said the Prisoners Society, where Israeli forces also harassed, threatened, and assaulted detainees and their relatives.

A United States B-2 Stealth Bomber was sent to fly over the Gaza Strip today, and do so at an altitude wherein the plane was clearly visible to people on the ground. What kind of a monster, sends a nuclear-capable Bomber aircraft to intimidate people on the ground? Who in the US Military; ordered this? Why was it done?

Poland has handed an official request to Washington to have U.S. nuclear weapons hosted in Poland. | No word yet on any need or desire in the US to put such weapons there. Russia earlier cautioned Poland that nuclear weapons in their country would **not** make Poland any safer. They said it would merely make Poland a target for Russian nuclear weapons.

My bet...and this is pure conjecture on my part — Poland didn't actually "request" anything. They were just told that the US is going to deploy nukes on their territory. The nukes will be controlled by the US of course, not Poland; Poland would have no interest in this affair whatsoever...except when they get blown up by Russia for having them so close to Russia.

[April 25/26, 2024] NATO begins deploying troops to Ukraine and Russia is racing to win | NATO has started deploying combat troops in Ukraine. They are in uniform and mostly concentrated in the west of the country, although in some cases they are close to the actual fighting in the east. Military personnel from Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Finland, and other NATO members are arriving in greater numbers. These troops are not mercenaries. They wear their country's flag on their shirt, writes Stephen Bryen. This is more or less the same pattern the US used when it sent “advisers” to Vietnam. In fact, it was US Special Forces who entered the battle. NATO claims that these are not combat soldiers, but that they are in Ukraine to operate advanced Western hardware. But if they are shooting at the Russians, the only correct way to interpret their presence is that they are playing an active role in the shooting war.

ICJ rejects Nicaragua’s request to halt German arms sales to Israel | The UN’s top court has thrown out Nicaragua’s request to halt German arms sales to Israel. In its ruling the ICJ said the circumstances, as they present themselves now, do not require the exercise of power. However, the court said it remains “deeply concerned about the catastrophic living conditions” in Gaza and reminded all countries they must abide by international law.
