Permalink The West is Goading Georgia

Thomas Fazi | Tbilisi has been ensnared by Nato hypocrisy | Food. Churches. Chacha. This is what Georgia has long been known for. But now this ancient country, flanked by the mountains and the sea in the heart of the Caucasus, is the battleground in a new Not-So-Cold War. Due to its strategic location — it shares a large border with Russia to the north — the country has found itself caught up in the geopolitical power play between the West and Russia. And just like the Euromaidan revolt in Ukraine a decade ago, Georgia’s domestic politics have been framed in Nato circles as an existential fight. On one side sits the Georgian Dream, the allegedly pro-Russian ruling party, in power since 2012. On the other sits the opposition, avowedly pro-Western and pro-EU.  Little wonder, then, that last week’s parliamentary elections have turned into a global event. As predicted by the polls, Georgian Dream won by a wide margin, securing over 53% of the vote. The four major opposition coalitions together managed less than 40%. There is no reason to believe that the vote was fixed: despite raising some concerns about pressure on voters, biased media coverage and an environment of political polarisation, independent observers found no evidence of electoral fraud, let alone of Russian interference.

Permalink ‘We’re over their heads’: Iran's Navy chief says US warships ‘under close watch’

The commander of the Iranian Navy has hailed the force’s comprehensive surveillance over the American warships that sail across regional waters.

💬 “The United States aircraft carrier as well as 16-strong destroyers and frigates that are present in the region are being constantly surveilled by our reconnaissance drones,” Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said on Monday. “We are over their heads,” he added, referring to the warships in question. [...] “This is a very important fact that we enjoy the capability to surveil the enemy even at sea,” Irani said, noting that this matter had turned into “a cause for concern for the Americans.” [...] “The Navy escorts oil and commercial cargoes from Venezuela’s coastline to the Americas, Europe, and Africa, confronting whatever violation that could take place against our ships,” Irani noted.

The Iranian surveillance aircraft were visible even to the naked eye, the commander said, describing the visibility as a means of the Islamic Republic’s “saying to the Americans that this region is not your place and we maintain all of your movements under observation.”

Permalink Israeli forces in Lebanon and Gaza suffer deadliest month of 2024

At least 62 soldiers killed and hundreds injured since the start of October, but some suspect real figure is being concealed by military censorship | Israel has recorded its worst month for military deaths this year amid continuing fierce fighting in southern Lebanon and northern Gaza.  At least 62 soldiers have been killed since the start of October, according to official figures, making this the deadliest month for the Israeli military since last December when 110 soldiers were killed at the height of its war against Hamas in Gaza.  It also marks a steep increase in recorded fatalities compared with recent months. Just nine deaths were recorded by the Israeli military in September, and 63 in total between June and August.  At least 35 Israeli soldiers have been killed in southern Lebanon or on the Lebanese border since Israel invaded its northern neighbour at the start of the month in an escalation of its war against Hezbollah. The Lebanese militant group has said it has killed more than 90 Israeli soldiers, although these figures are unverified.  At least 19 soldiers have also died this month in continuing fighting with Hamas in Gaza, where Israel is accused of carrying out a campaign of ethnic cleansing and extermination against Palestinians trapped in the north of the enclave.

Israel dropped munitions at a so-called “lethal” distance — 340 meters — from at least 19 hospitals, showed the analysis, which covered the first month of the war.

Iran has officially declared a NOTAM (notice to air missions) from November 4 at 2:30 am until November 6 at 6:30 pm. Air travel restrictions confirmed. It appears the hyper-sonics are ready to hit Israel. | The longer Iran lets those missiles remain out in the open, the longer they are vulnerable to pre-emptive attack by Israel and the U.S. So Logic dictates that the launches would begin right at the NOTAM time, which is 2:30 AM in Iran, and 7:00 PM (Tomorrow, Sunday) on the US East Coast...Word on Intel Circuits is claiming that Iran has already pre-positioned one-thousand, five-hundred (1,500) missiles for launch, but later, more recent Intel is now saying the total number of missiles distributed from storage is about four-thousand (~4,000.). Israel has said "If Iran attacks, they will get double in return." It is not known if Israel has such ballistic missile resources; generally the Israelis rely on aircraft to attack other countries.  But the US has sent ENORMOUS military resources into the region, and it is not hard to imagine immediate US involvement, even though Congress has not declared war. Iran has also made very clear that if the US participates in attacking Iran, ALL US BASES in the Middle East will come under Iranian missile attack.

Permalink West underestimating Moscow on nukes – Medvedev

Western leaders do not fully appreciate Russia’s readiness to deploy nuclear weapons to protect itself, Dmitry Medvedev told RT | Washington and its allies mistakenly believe that Russia will never cross the line of using nuclear weapons, former President Dmitry Medvedev stated in an exclusive interview with RT on Saturday.  Medvedev, who currently serves as deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, suggested that current Western leaders are not as forward-thinking as their predecessors and fail to take into account Russia’s willingness to defend its existence using all means at its disposal.

💬 ”They have made a miscalculation, since they are not of the brightest kind… For some reason they think that Russians will never cross a certain line. They are wrong. [...] Former pharmaceutical executive and researcher Sasha Latypova, who has been a source of several important bombshell reports over the last year, has more recently relied on Watt’s documentation and strongly encouraged “everyone to subscribe to her and read her work. It’s an encyclopedia of law references, meticulously researched going back years describing how the [pseudo-legal] structure [for the government’s bioterrorism program] was put in place and what it entails.”

💬 [Katherine Watt:] “The basic goal of the architects, which has been achieved,” Watt writes, “was to set up legal conditions in which all governing power in the United States could be automatically transferred from the citizens and the three Constitutional branches into the two hands of the Health and Human Services Secretary, effective at the moment the HHS Secretary himself declared a public health emergency, legally transforming free citizens into enslaved subjects.” “That happened on Jan. 31, 2020, in effect as of Jan. 27, 2020 through the present day.”
