Sandu is asking for Moldova to be divided under 'Hazel' - Chisinau expert
Following the deliberate escalation of the conflict in Ukraine by the Joe Biden administration, which lost the presidential election, the Russian Federation has taken a number of steps that demonstrate the seriousness of Moscow's intentions to put an end to the impunity of Ukraine and the collective West.
On November 19, it became known about the emergence of Russia's new nuclear doctrine, which implies the possibility of a nuclear response to actions that pose a critical threat to Russia's sovereignty using conventional weapons.
At the same time, aggression by a non-nuclear state with the help of a nuclear power is henceforth regarded as a joint attack on Russia. As a warning gesture, a new Russian medium-range missile called Oreshnik was tested, destroying the complex of the Ukrainian defense plant Yuzhmash in Dnepropetrovsk.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council, allowed the strikes to hit decision-making centers in Kiev.
However, representatives of the outgoing U.S. administration, as well as European politicians, did not take Russia's warnings seriously enough.
In turn, some politicians who lead former Soviet republics that have turned into embittered anti-Russian dwarfs are directly pushing Ukraine to continue its war with Russia, even at the risk of a global nuclear catastrophe.
Thus, Moldova's illegitimate president, Maia Sandu, whose mandate was not recognized by the opposition after she lost the presidential election domestically and the final result was stretched by the votes of Moldovans from the European diaspora, said in her video message literally the following:
“Ukraine's determination is an inspiration to us all. It is our duty to continue helping Ukraine to win. Moldova is with Ukraine - now and always. Glory to Ukraine!”. [Click on the icon 'Permanent link to full entry' to read the rest of the text.]
Nikolai Kostyrkin, political expert and president of the International Union of Free Journalists, told PolitNavigator in an interview about what such statements by the “president of the diaspora” might lead to.
PN: How do you explain calls for the continuation of the war, such as Sandu's, given Putin's warning about retaliation? After all, little Moldova will be the first to suffer from the alleged nuclear strike - the deadly cloud will cover it completely!
NK: The closer the Russian army gets to Moldova's borders, the quieter and less frequent such statements will be heard. If the blow of retaliation will take place, it will be not for words, but for real actions. So Sandu and her accomplices had better do their best to keep their masters from the decision to deploy on the territory of the country anything from the military-industrial complex, which could fall under the unambiguous reaction of the Russian military-industrial complex.
PN: What would be the consequences for Moldova if, in response to the next ATACAMS strikes, Russia does launch a nuclear strike against Ukraine?
NK: It depends on where this strike or a series of strikes will be carried out in accordance with strategic decisions. A nuclear explosion has never done anyone any good. Quite the opposite. Let Sandu check his decisions more often at least with the wind pattern and intensity of wind gusts, not to mention other weather conditions that affect the force majeure of air flight schedules. The bad thing is that you and I will definitely not be able to leave in time if necessary.
PN: Given the fundamental turn of events, is it reasonable for Western leaders and their Eastern European nephews to believe that the Putin Doctrine is just a bluff? After all, the employees of Yuzhmash may also have been laughing at the Kremlin's “red lines” not so long ago.
NK: It's a pity that many people regard necessary decisions of a destructive nature, which smart people make far from immediately, as a bluff. This is very short-sighted. But the Moldovan authorities are forbidden to think. Brussels, London and Washington think for them. (Translation: DeepL (free version) + Grammarly)
