Jordan closes Syria border as extremists prepare Damascus assault
Israel carried out ground and air military movements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights in preparation for a possible invasion of southern Syria. | Jordan closed its only passenger and commercial border crossing with Syria, the interior ministry said on 6 December, citing security concerns amid the ongoing extremist invasion of Syria that began over a week ago. ● Jordan News Agency reported that all traffic through Jordan's Jaber crossing into Syrian territory will be banned. However, Jordanians and Jordanian vehicles will be permitted to return to the Kingdom's territory from the other side, Syria's Nassib Crossing. ● Armed extremist groups seeking to invade southern Syria announced on Friday the formation of a new operations room to coordinate a coming assault on Damascus. ● In a statement shared with CNN, the “Southern Operations Room” called on government forces to defect “from the Assad regime's criminal gang” and join the foreign-backed extremists.
