Consequently, Hezbollah declared them legitimate military targets for its aerial and missile forces, calling on settlers to "evacuate immediately."

Israel wants to take control of the territory up to the Litani River and create a buffer zone both in Lebanon and inside Syria, as per the outlet.

Permalink Censorship Will Remain the Lasting Legacy of Biden’s Failed Presidency

John Miles | Social media censorship is “indistinct from government censorship,” writer Caitlin Johnstone observed, noting that tech giants operate under both implicit and explicit guidance from Congress. |

💬 “I think it’s about time that we stop apologizing for our support for Israel,” then Senator Joe Biden declared in 1986, as if anyone ever has. “There’s no apology to be made – none. It’s the best $3 billion investment we make. Were it not for Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interests in the region.”

Although American support for its Middle Eastern ally is frequently framed under the rubric of liberal antiracism, Biden’s candid pronouncement spoke to the geopolitical realpolitik that informed US alliance with Saudi Arabia, Pol Pot’s Cambodia and apartheid South Africa. The United States’ backing of Israel has formed a core part of its modern foreign policy, invigorating Western imperialism with the potent justification of fighting terrorism just as the communist threat had been seemingly vanquished.

Permalink ⚡Smotrich’s ‘Greater Israel’ fantasy rooted in Theodor Herzl’s Zionism

Alireza Akbari | Israeli regime minister Bezalel Smotrich in a TV show earlier this week brazenly expounded the plan to expand the occupying entity "as far as Damascus," sparking massive backlash. | Known for his racist and fascist demagoguery, Smotrich made the remarks in a recently released documentary titled 'In Israel: Ministers of Chaos', in which he claimed that the expansionist agenda, rooted in the Zionist vision of a "Greater Israel" beyond the Jordan River, would unfold "little by little."

💬 "Absolutely, but slowly," Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu's close aide and confidante said when asked about extending the regime's "borders" from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River. "Our great sages used to say that the future of Jerusalem was to extend as far as Damascus."

His comments came amid Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza and Lebanon. While the aggression against Lebanon has killed over 2,000 and displaced at least a million others, the onslaught on Gaza has so far claimed more than 42,000 lives and displaced over 1.5 million Palestinians in the enclave. [...] Greater Israel is an expansionist and irredentist concept and a plan to expand the Zionist entity into the territories of West Asia and North Africa.

The UN’s Special Rapporteur on occupied Palestinian territories calls out Israel’s dangerous expansionist agenda and lays out her vision for peace in the Middle East. | So, we should be able to take a step back and see that this is not just about Israel versus Palestine or Israelis versus Palestinians. I agree with the Pope when he says the Palestinians are not victims of a war, they are victims of an ideology. But I wonder if today we cannot see that this ideology is much broader than the land of Palestine and touches all of us. How do you define this ideology? This ideology we are talking about is the one that conceives the right to exist in the land that was a historical Palestine. And Israel sees it as Greater Israel unified from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea. Several Israeli politicians and leaders are openly talking about the fact that Greater Israel should include parts of Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. I mean, it's unconscionable what we are sort of letting Israel get away with [this]. But again, there is an ideology that envisages the right to exist in this land for the Jewish people only.

Because that’s the thing with spoiled brats – the day you say “No,” you, too, become a problem.  All this is happening now because Israel has crossed a red line for France in subjecting Lebanon to what the Western establishment would be blatantly calling an “invasion,” if Lebanon were Ukraine and Israel were Russia.
