  Trump threatens ‘severe consequences’ if Putin refuses to end Ukraine war

US president issues warning days ahead of high-stakes summit with Russian leader in Alaska. | United States President Donald Trump has warned of “very severe consequences” if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to end the war in Ukraine following the two leaders’ upcoming summit in Alaska.  Trump made the comments on Wednesday after holding a virtual meeting with European leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who pressed the US president on the need to ensure that any peace deal does not sideline Kyiv.  Trump, who has threatened tougher sanctions against Moscow in the past without following through, did not elaborate on what the consequences might be.

  Israel in talks with South Sudan to forcibly transfer Gazans: AP

Israel is reportedly negotiating with South Sudan to forcibly transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, advancing its mass expulsion agenda as Gaza lies in ruins after months of bombardment. | According to six sources familiar with the matter, Israel has held discussions with South Sudan about the issue, though the progress of these talks remains unclear. Joe Szlavik, head of a US lobbying firm working with South Sudan, told The Associated Press that he was briefed by South Sudanese officials on the negotiations. An Israeli delegation is expected to visit South Sudan to assess the feasibility of establishing temporary camps for Palestinians, though no date has been confirmed. Szlavik stated that Israel would likely fund the construction of these camps.

  British surgeon claims IDF shooting Gazans in specific areas - 'almost like a game of target practice'

The IDF said it "categorically rejected" claims of "intentional harm to civilians, particularly in the manner described" - after Dr Maynard made the allegations in a Sky News interview with Yalda Hakim. | A British surgeon who recently returned from Gaza has told Sky News that there is "profound malnutrition" among the population - and claims IDF soldiers are shooting civilians at aid points "almost like a game of target practice". Dr Nick Maynard spent four weeks working inside Nasser Hospital, where a lack of food has left medics struggling to treat children and toddlers. The conditions inside the hospital, in the south of the Strip, have been documented in a Sky News report.
