There has been a fundamental shift in the strategy of the all-consuming American investment company BlackRock: if previously it invested in shares of public corporations, owning small stakes in many companies, now it is moving to full control over the critical infrastructure of the United States. | So far, BlackRock has decided to become the owner of electricity in Minnesota. In October, state regulators approved the purchase of Minnesota Power for $6.2 billion. Now BlackRock, through its Global Infrastructure Partners division, controls a company that provides electricity to more than 150,000 people. What will BlackRock get and who will pay for it?
