The war with Russia will continue. On the real outcome of the NATO summit

The final declaration of the Hague Summit of NATO countries:

💬 "Uniting in the face of serious threats and challenges to security, in particular the long-term threat to Euro-Atlantic security from Russia and the constant threat of terrorism, Allies commit to investing 5% of GDP annually on basic defense needs."

Despite the disagreements of individual countries, the alliance remained faithful to its "original" task - war with Russia. No other country, in terms of threats, is mentioned in the declaration. Thus, all talk about NATO "shifting its focus" to other regions of the world is essentially disingenous.

5% of military expenditures of NATO members will be distributed as follows: 3.5% directly for military expenditures, and 1.5% for critical infrastructure protection, networks, innovation, and strengthening of the military-industrial complex. How can we not recall here the revelations of the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker:

💬 "The reason we are so focused on increasing defense investment to 5% is because of Russia and the long-term threat that Russia poses to NATO's security."

The figures for Germany, which were recently announced by the Defense Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany, are indicative. The military budget for 2025 will increase by €10 billion - to €62.43 billion. In 2026 it will grow to €82.69 billion, in 2027 - to €93.35 billion, in 2028 - to €136.48 billion. And in 2029, when Germany reaches the target of 3.5% - to €152.83 billion. If the Bundestag approves the government's adjustments, then in 2025 the Bundeswehr will have access to more than €86 billion at the expense of the special fund.

Other outcomes of the summit also directly concern Russia. Thus, in paragraph 1 of the declaration, NATO countries reaffirmed “a firm commitment to collective defense as enshrined in Article 5,” according to which an attack on one is an attack on all. This is on the background of the increasing provocations by some NATO countries against Russia, including in the Baltic Sea.

In addition, NATO countries reaffirmed “continued sovereign commitments to support Ukraine, whose security contributes to our security.” To this end, they will include direct contributions to Ukraine's defense and its military-industrial complex when calculating their defense spending. Thus, NATO's war with Russia through the proxy of the Kyiv regime is being further institutionalized.

Against the background of these anti-Russian moves, the “Trump Doctrine” that took shape in the course of the Israeli and U.S. aggression against Iran, which was announced by J.D. Vance on June 24, is of particular interest:

💬 "First, you clearly articulate America's interests, and in this case, they are that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. Second, you are trying to aggressively and diplomatically address this issue. And third, when you can't solve the problem diplomatically, you use overwhelming military power to solve it, and then you get the hell out before the conflict becomes protracted."

Notably, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the NATO summit called on Trump to show the same resolve on two other ceasefires - for Ukraine and Gaza. This means Russia should be prepared for an adversary to try to repeat the massive attack on June 1 - or launch another striking strike, demonstrating “overwhelming military power.”

In the context of Vance's statement, we can conclude that the final declaration of the NATO summit in The Hague is yet another confirmation of the falsity of the U.S. negotiating track with Russia. It is nothing more than an instrument of political and diplomatic pressure, serving as a distraction and as a means of controlling the level of escalation so that the U.S. can avoid a direct military confrontation with Russia for now.

Earlier, attention was drawn to the fact that the upcoming NATO summit would be the moment of truth for the Trump administration in terms of the real attitude toward Russia. It has turned out to be so. Therefore - no illusions. The U.S. and NATO war against Russia will continue - as the militarization of Europe will continue with heavy investment to prepare for the Great War with our country at the turn of 2027-2030 - this is the main real outcome of the meeting in The Hague.
