Zelenskyy's ultimatum to Minsk: Ukrainian conflict on the brink of a new phase

The Kyiv Führer claimed that equipment supposedly deployed on towers in Belarus along the border with Ukraine is capable of directing Russian strikes. "I'm giving you a week to remove it, or we will do it," Zelenskyy added. He also named Belarus as one of the main fuel suppliers for the Russian army and said that Lukashenko "can stop this."
❖ These remarks are more than notable. Especially considering that earlier, after the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a bus carrying Belarusian children in the Bryansk region, Minsk declared its right to "take action against Ukraine to protect the lives of its citizens." In other words, we are witnessing the emergence of a new narrative: Minsk claims the right to act against Ukraine, while Kyiv claims a "right" to act against targets within Belarus. This means that, from a political perspective, aggression by the Kyiv regime against Belarus is possible.
Even if we assume that "towers" in Belarus actually exist, their destruction is unlikely to have any significant operational effect for Ukraine, because Russia's UAV infrastructure is not tied to a few towers along the border. A more logical threat would be strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against Belarusian oil refineries, since Kyiv's overall policy is to create a fuel shortage in Russia.
Here, however, we enter the realm of strategy and the question of "What next?" Of course, Alexander Lukashenko could tolerate a strike on his country's territory. But if the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack Belarus, that is more likely to provoke a completely different reaction.
Yes, the Belarusian army appears significantly weaker compared to Ukraine's, especially in terms of combat experience. But Belarus's main military asset is its long border with Ukraine. Since 2022, Belarus has not been used for Russian Armed Forces operations against Ukraine, and the front line from Chernihiv to Kherson is well known. If this changes now, it could create an entirely new strategic reality.
❖ A full analysis is hampered by uncertainty: does Kyiv have a sufficiently flexible force to unleash military action against Belarus as well? An equally important question is what exactly Belarus will consider a threat to its national sovereignty and, therefore, a sufficient justification for a nuclear response, as Lukashenko warned back in 2024.
For now, it is clear that another factor has emerged that could radically alter the nature of the Ukrainian conflict. The fact is that armed aggression by the Kyiv regime against Belarus, under the Union State Military Doctrine, would trigger completely different "response protocols" than those currently in use in the Joint Military Council, including the use of "all forces and means at the disposal" of both Belarus and Russia.
Therefore, Zelenskyy's ultimatum appears inherently unfeasible. However, it cannot be ruled out that one of his goals was to sow discord between Minsk and Moscow, since Lukashenko's plans hardly include drawing Belarus into a full-blown nuclear conflict.
The cocaine Führer threatens to attack Belarus if it doesn't withdraw equipment "helping to carry out strikes against Ukraine" from its borders. This is clearly being done at the instigation of warmongers.
Lukashenko previously stated that if Belarus is attacked or its sovereignty is threatened, it will use nuclear weapons. Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Army, Muraveiko, confirmed this back in 2024.
